Munnar Tea Hills – The Misty Tea Sanctuary

Munnar sits at an elevation of 1,600 metres in the Idukki district of Kerala, nestled deep within the Western Ghats. Once the summer retreat of British planters, today it is Kerala's most beloved highland destination — defined by rolling carpets of manicured tea gardens, misty mountain valleys, and rare biodiversity.

The KDHP Tea Museum traces Munnar's colonial plantation history through antique machinery, hand-sorted teas, and archival photographs. Eravikulam National Park protects the endangered Nilgiri Tahr mountain goat — the only place on earth where you can observe this creature in its natural highland grassland habitat.

Mattupetty Dam offers boat rides on the serene reservoir surrounded by shola forests. Echo Point creates an unusual natural acoustic phenomenon at the lake. Top Station, perched at 1,880 metres, offers sweeping panoramic views of the Tamil Nadu plains below.
